On 21/03/2025, Advocate Ashwini Kamath delivered a one-hour lecture on the topic of Medical Jurisprudence for dental students. The session was held in the presence of three faculty members, five postgraduate students, and 80 undergraduate dental students.

The lecture aimed to bridge the gap between law and healthcare, specifically focusing on how legal principles apply to medical and dental practice. Advocate Kamath began by explaining the importance of understanding medical jurisprudence for dental professionals, emphasizing the legal responsibilities of dentists in their practice.

She covered key topics such as patient consent, malpractice, negligence, and the medico-legal aspects of dental treatments. Special focus was given to the significance of documenting patient interactions, the consequences of failing to do so, and the importance of ethical practices in protecting oneself from legal liabilities.

Advocate Kamath also discussed real-life legal cases involving dental professionals and highlighted the role of dental practitioners in ensuring patient safety and avoiding legal disputes. She advised students on how to maintain proper records and how to handle difficult situations, including patient complaints and disputes.
