The Department of Prosthodontics, on the occasion of World Prosthodontist Day on 22nd January 2025 conducted a material demo and hands-on workshop on "Enhance Perfection with Direct Restorations" in Academy-Industry Partnership with Wizdent-Kuraray for post graduates and faculty. The resource person for the same was Dr. Preeti Nagarajan.

Dr. Thilak Shetty, Professor and Head of the Department, welcomed the audience and introduced the speaker. Dr. Preeti gave a brief summary of her academic and clinical journey before starting the session. She then ventured to give a meticulous and distinct insight into broad spectrum of Wizdent Kuraray products with the help of extremely well documented cases. She highlighted the need for precision and value for money in clincal practice specifically when it comes to direct restorations for patients with high esthetic and functional needs. At the end of the lecture, Dr. Preeti was felicitated with a certificate by Dr. Shobha Rodrigues, Professor, Department of Prosthodontics.

The next session included a demonstration of the Wizdent products on dummy models. The participants learned the steps in composite build ups, layering techniques as well as polishing protocols. After the demonstration, each participant was provided with a model along with the resin composite to enable them to practice making direct restorations including conventional restorations, veneers and composite build ups. A wide range of products from Wizdent was also available for the participants to peruse and use as required. Dr. Preeti guided the participants giving valuable input and direction to ensure each participant gained the most knowledge from this material demo and hands on workshop.
