13th of Feb marks a celebratory event for all maxillofacial surgeons across the globe. 

At Manipal College of Dental Sciences, this day was celebrated with intellectual joy.

We chose this day to inaugurate our new extension of the department. Dr Ashitha Uppoor Dean, Dr Junaid Ahmed and Dr. Arathi Rao Associate Deans MCODS, Mangalore grace the occasion.  Head of the Department, Dr Dharnappa Poojary along with faculty and postgraduates students celebrated the Internation Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Day.

We also had a poster competition conducted amongst the interns as an attempt to expand their  knowledge regarding the scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Certificates and cash prize was awarded to the winners. The day was concluded with a cake cutting event amongst the staff, post graduates and non-teaching staff in the department. 

It was indeed an enriching experience for all and also a moment of pride for all maxillofacial surgeons and those who aspire to be the same.
