As part of the UGC initiative to commemorate Constitution Day, the Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS), Mangalore, organized a series of events on 26th October 2024, to celebrate and honor the significance of the Constitution of India. The event aimed to instill awareness about constitutional values among students and encourage active participation in activities promoting national unity and responsibility.

The celebration commenced with a pledge ceremony, where 100 BDS students solemnly recited the Preamble of the Indian Constitution. This collective pledge reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution. 

A highlight of the day was the essay competition on the topic “Constitution of India." . The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, with more than 40 students showcasing their understanding and perspectives on the Constitution's historical significance, democratic ethos, and role as the backbone of India's governance. The entries reflected a deep respect for the nation's guiding document and demonstrated the students' analytical and creative writing skills.

The best essays were awarded a certificate acknowledging students' values and  respect for India's constitutional heritage.
