Executive Development Program on “Digital Marketing for Business Growth”

School of Management organized a one-day executive development program on “Digital Marketing for Business Growth” on Sunday, December 11, 2016 for micro, small and medium enterprises in the coastal districts of Mangalore and Udupi. The program focused on sharing the latest trends, best practices and technologies for effective digital and social media marketing.

Dr. Raveendranath Nayak, Director, School of Management said that the Executive Development Program is designed to sensitize the MSMEs about digital marketing practices and the potential of digital in driving revenue. “School of Management will be conducting EDPs on various topics which will help the small enterprises in the community to strengthen their business acumen. We have plans to conduct EDP in core management areas such as HR, finance, marketing and entrepreneurship” he said.

The sessions were conducted by Mr. Satheesh Kumar Palanisamy, Head Digital Marketing, Manipal Global Education Services, Bengaluru. Mr. Palanisamy provided insights into India’s shift to digital space and gave a robust understanding of how technology is changing at a breakneck speed. “Rapid digital innovation and new consumer behaviors are reinforcing changes in industry’s marketing priorities and spending” he said.

He also explained how small enterprises can use various digital platforms such as SEO, SEM, adwords, display advertising, mobile advertising, video advertising, social media advertising and leverage its potential to build the brand. He enlightened the participants on how to list their products in the ecommerce market place.

Owners and marketing executives from various small to medium scale industries of Udupi and South Kanara districts participated in the program.

Col. Badri Narayanan, Director Purchase and General Services gave away the certificates to the participants and in his valedictory message, he appreciated the efforts of School of Management for recognizing the need of the society. “Such programs will not only help developing specific skill set of an individual but also will help build the society in large”, he said.
