HR Conclave - 2018 "Thinkfluence-The Art of Thinking and Influencing"

The HORIZON the HR Forum of Manipal Institute of Management (Manipal Academy of Higher Education) organized its Annual HR conclave 2018 on February, 13 2018 (Tuesday) at Gangubai Hanagal auditorium located at Manipal Center of Philosophical Studies.

Mr. Ganesh Selvaraj, Senior General Manager & Head Human Resources Function Manipal Health Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore was the chief guest and Mr. Sivakaumar Palaniappan, CEO, Mastering Mind Academy, Coimbatore gave a Keynote address to the students on the topic “Thinkfluence-The Art of Thinking and Influencing".

Dr. Raveendranath Nayak, Director, Manipal Institute of Management, Manipal welcomed the eminent speakers and guests.

Mr. Ganesh Selvaraj, Senior General Manager & Head Human Resources Function Manipal Health Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore while addressing the gathering spoke about the competencies required for the MBA graduates to be absorbed by the companies in this VUCA environment. He stressed that that students should aim for big goals and they should strive to achieve it.

Mr. Sivakaumar Palaniappan, CEO, Mastering Mind Academy, Coimbatore spoke about “Thinkfluence-The Art of Thinking and Influencing".

In his speech he emphasized the need to rewire one’s brain to be positive and effective. Rewiring one’s brain will help an individual to think positively which will influence the decision making process. He gave some tips to the students on How to be positive and effective?

Some of the points which he highlighted was understand your brain better, consciously choose to be positive, Learn the psychological and physiological connections, relive your happy memory associations, Be positive at the present moment.

He was of the view that the ability to learn and apply some of the fundamental brain sciences in life will enable to bring conscious and consistent betterment in one’s thinking, decision making and influencing process.
