Prof. Dashrathraj Shetty, Faculty at Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Manipal Institute of Technology and also an alumnus of Manipal Institute of Management (now School of Management) delivered a guest talk on ‘Human Factors and User Experience Design’ on July 16, 2016 to the students of Digital Marketing course.
“Emotions form the basis of thoughts, the five senses - sight, sound, smell, taste and touch - fuel those emotions. Our perceptions of the world are built on those five senses and they interact to help us make sense of our surroundings” he said.
He elaborated on the importance of creating multi-sensory experiences for customers and gave insights on analyzing the priority to be given at different sensory touch points in the customer journey and how it reveals opportunities for optimization of user experience design.
