Stationery Drive

The volunteers of Manipal Institute of Management under the Centre for Regional Development conducted ‘Stationery Drive’ for the academic year on 18th to 23rd August 2019. This initiative was undertaken to support the primary students of Manchikodi Government School with education-related needs mainly with stationery (Pens, Pencils, crayons etc.). There were mainly four centres set up for stationery collection i.e. MIM Campus, Student Plaza, Food Court and 10th Block. The distribution of stationery took place on 26th August. Dr Raveendranath Nayak, Director, MIM mentioned about the purpose of the initiative and promised to continue such support in the future. The programme proceeded with distribution of stationery to the students from 1st to 7th Std total number accounting to 68. Also, slates and crayons were distributed to the Nursery students of the school. Fun games and activities were conducted by the Club members who brought smiles on the faces of students. The programme ended with a gratitude note by Faculty Co-ordinator of Dr Varun Kumar S G who also announced the next activity of the club, Spoken English Classes for 5th to 7th Std. The initiative was led by VSO MIM Student Representative Jasmine Alka Noronha with the support of student volunteers.
