VOLUNTARY SOCIAL SERVICES CLUB INAUGURATION

The inaugural ceremony of voluntary social services club was held on 21st of August 2017 at 3:30 pm. It began with the invocation led by Mr. Amol Patwardhan followed by singing the national anthem. The ceremony was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the director Dr. Raveendranath Nayak, the chief guest Mr. Abinandhan Shetty, the faculty advisor Dr. KVM Varambally and the office bearers of the club. The welcome speech was given by Ms. Swechha Shetty, the secretary of the club; the introduction of the club was given by Mr. Muhammed Naseef Ali, the president of the club. The introduction of the chief guest was given by Ms. Merin Paul, the vice president of the club highlighting his achievements. The chief guest in his speech mentioned about participating in a voluntary services and how it helps one person develop his/her leadership qualities. He stressed on how leadership skills can be obtained through social activities. He addressed the gathering saying Degree or Education will not solve the problem of life but the service to the needy will solve the problem and make you better person. He also mentioned about grabbing each opportunity and not missing them. Later, the director addressed the crowd by saying that the club is introduced in our institution to produce holistic management professional. The faculty advisor spoke to the crowd. The letter of appreciation was given to the students who participated in the national conference on youth in social change organised by VSO, Manipal Academy of Higher Education by Mr. Abinandhan Shetty. The letter of appreciation was given to the second years for co- coordinating the orientation program for the batch 2017. A memento was handed over to the chief guest by the director. The vote of thanks was given by Ms. Rovah. Ms. Alba Saldhana was the Master of Ceremony. The gathering was dispersed for refreshments.
