The World Health Day 2024 with the theme “My health, my right” was celebrated on the 7 April 2024. To mark this occasion, Pharmacy Literacy Club (PLC), Centre for Public Health Pharmacy, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS) collaborated with Tempus Pretioso: Emergency Medicine Enthusiast Club of KMC, Manipal organized a Basic Life Skills (BLS) workshop for the faculty and research scholars of MCOPS on 9 April 2024 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at MCOPS. To a crowd of nearly 40, members of Tempus Pretioso expertly demonstrated various life saving emergency procedures including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), head injury management, sprain and splinting, Heimlich maneuver, hypoglycemia and dehydration management, seizure, and head injury management. The sessions were handled with a primary demonstration by the KMC team with the aid of PowerPoint presentation, followed by a hands on training in which the participants gained practice on dummies. The workshop was lauded for its hands-on training experience, and in-depth practical information that was passed on.
