Online Certificate Course on Introduction to Medical Writing Launched from MCOPS

The department of Pharmacology, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal and, The Centre for Digital Learning, Manipal Academy of Higher Education have jointly designed and developed a job-oriented online certificate course titled “Introduction to Medical Writing”. The course was officially launched from MCOPS, Manipal by Dr. PLNG Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Medical and Dental Sciences, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, on 17th February 2022 via MS Teams at 10.00 a.m. The event by was attended by Dr. C Mallikarjuna Rao, Principal, MCOPS, Dr. Nandakumar K., Head of the Department, Pharmacology, MCOPS, and Dr. Anoop Kishore, Coordinator, Centre for Digital Learning, MAHE.
This is the first course offered completely online by the Centre for Digital Learning and MCOPS. The course can be accessed by visiting the website https://digitalmanipal.org and is developed with funding from Vision Group on Science and Technology, Govt of Karnataka, and supported by Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal. The course focuses on covering the fundamental concepts in clinical trials, adequate information on regulatory requirements for the conduct of clinical trials, and knowledge about the diverse profession of medical writing. The course offered is for 32 hours and it includes resources such as online lectures, reading materials, self-directed learning modules, and evaluation in the form of quizzes and assignments. The course is developed with the help of experts working in the industry to help prepare the candidates for a career in clinical research and medical writing.
