Centre for Drug Testing, MCOPS, organized Online Course on ‘Design of Experiments’

13-21 June 2022:  The Centre for Drug Testing, Department of Pharmaceutics and Innovative Communication Club (I2C), Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, MAHE, Manipal conducted an online course on ‘Design of Experiments’ from 13 to 21 June 2022, during the Summer School Program organized by  MAHE Student Research Forum under the aegis of the Directorate of Research. The online course was coordinated by Dr. Usha Y Nayak, Associate Professor – Senior Scale, Dept. of Pharmaceutics, Coordinator-Centre for Drug Testing, Faculty coordinator-I2C, MCOPS, MAHE, Manipal. The nine days session included the talks on various topics on the Design of Experiments along with participant engagement activities like quizzes, discussions, hands-on sessions, and case studies. The topics such as Quality by Design and introduction to Design of Experiments, screening designs, RSM designs along with case-studies discussion were covered by Dr. Usha Y Nayak. Dr. Jayesh Mudgal, Associate Professor, Dept. of Pharmacology, MCOPS, MAHE, Manipal, shared his expertise on the topic of statistical analysis and tools in research and discussed its application. The distinguished speaker from Indoco Remedies Ltd, Mumbai, Dr. Simta Jadhav, explained the QbD methodology to identify critical material attributes and critical process parameters with relevant case studies practically applicable in the industry. Dr. Saikat Mukyopadhyay, Novartis, Hyderabad explained the Mixture Design with relevant case studies. The program concluded on 21 June 2022 with an assessment test. Ms. Ashwini T, Dr. TMA Pai Research Scholar & Executive Member of MAHE-SRF, Department of Pharmaceutics coordinated the program during the course duration.
