The orientation program for the new batch of students of DPharm, BPharm, MPharm PharmD and DPhram programs was inaugurated on 18 July 2023 at 9.30 AM at Dr TMA Pai Hall. The program commenced with opening remarks by MC, Dr Angel Treasa Alex and invocation song by Dr Bhavana Bhat. Honorable Pro Chancellor of MAHE Dr HS Ballal was the chief guest and Honorable ProVice Chancellor-Health Sciences, MAHE, Dr Sharath Kumar Rao was the Guest of Honour. Dr Krishnamurthy Bhat, Vice Principal of MCOPS delivered the welcome address. The program was ceremonially inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries on the dais along with representatives from students and parents. During his message, Principal of MCOPS Dr C Mallikarjuna Rao greeted the parents and students and stressed that MCOPS, the trailblazer in Pharmaceutical Education and Research, is committed to providing quality education to its students. Dr Sharath Kumar Rao remarked on the unique position MCOPS holds among the institutions of MAHE and Dr HS Ballal, during the chief guest address, affirmed the strengths of MAHE and invited the parents and guests to visit the campus for a great experience. The inaugural was concluded by vote of thanks by Dr Srinivas Mutalik, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmaceutics, MCOPS. Refreshments were served after the inaugural ceremony. Dr Krishnamurthy Bhat, Professor, and Vice Principal began the orientation program with an overview of MCOPS, and Dr Jayesh Mudgal, Associate Professor, MCOPS presented a meticulous narrative of the Pharmacy Profession.  This was followed by detailed sessions on student affairs, hostel facilities, students finance, health care facilities, Library and Learning Resources, VSO, Paperless Examination, and scholarships and awards. During the last session, a meeting with teacher guardians was arranged where students and their parents could interact with their guardians to gain inputs for healthy academic life and for discussing matters of personal attention by the teachers. The orientation continued for the next two days for the UG students and one more day for the PG students where academic orientation, verification of certificates etc were carried out. Dr. Angel Alex coordinated the program in a hassle-free and meticulous manner.
