The Department of Pharmaceutics, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal organized a Three-days Conference "Manipal Pharmaceutics Conference" (MPCON 2022) at MCOPS, Manipal during 22-24 September 2022. The conference's theme was "Molecular Pharmaceutics: A Vital Tool for Future Therapeutics". The conference was aimed to provide a platform for deliberation and knowledge-sharing amongst pharmaceutical researchers and students towards improving current and future therapeutics through the concept of molecular pharmaceutics.

The conference included pre-conference workshops in different areas including Computational Simulation in Formulation Design, Hot Melt Extrusion, and Quality by Design on the first day. The conference was inaugurated on 23 September 2022 by Dr. Venkatraya M Prabhu, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Health Sciences), MAHE, Manipal by lighting the lamp. Dr. C Mallikarjuna Rao, Principal, MCOPS welcomed the gathering and gave an overview of the conference.  The Chief Guest, Dr. Prabhu released the E-abstract book and in his inaugural address said “MPCON 2022 is a curtain-raiser for the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of MCOPS, to be held in 2023. He sensitized the young delegates on the importance of knowledge and wisdom. He also encouraged them to learn from other's experiences, to aim high, and to have a vision and mission in life to reach their goal”.   Dr. Srinivas Mutalik, Professor & Head, Dept. of Pharmaceutics, MCOPS, and the Organizing Secretary, MPCON-2022 proposed the vote of thanks. The inaugural program was witnessed, by Dr. Krishnamurthy Bhat, Vice-Principal, MCOPS, the speakers, chairpersons, MAHE officials, delegates, faculty members, resource persons, research scholars, and students.

Following the inauguration, scientific sessions were conducted by eminent resource persons from various industries and academia. There were 13 plenary speakers and 14 chairpersons for the conference. The conference served as an impetus to promote the knowledge among the delegates on various topics including novel drug delivery, targeted drug delivery, biotherapeutics, personalized medicine, and theranostics for effective treatment of diseases. 93 research/conceptual posters were presented by the delegates. About 274 delegates including pharmacy students and teachers participated from various reputed pharmacy institutions in India.

The valedictory program was conducted on 24 September 2022. Dr. Narayana Sabhahit, Registrar, MAHE, Manipal was the Chief Guest for the program. Dr. C Mallikarjuna Rao, Principal, MCOPS welcomed the gathering. Dr. Srinivas Mutalik gave an overview of the MPCON. Dr. Krishnamurthy Bhat, Vice-Principal, MCOPS addressed the gathering highlighting the efforts of the MPCON organizing committee for successfully organizing the event. Dr. Sabhahit in his talk appreciated the young delegates for their enthusiasm, research interest, and active involvement during MPCON 2022. He also enlightened how Manipal matters and the involvement of MAHE in providing healthcare services to society and helping the government. The chairpersons were felicitated and the Chief Guest distributed the Best Poster Awards. The program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shaila Lewis, Professor, Dept. of Pharmaceutics, MCOPS, Manipal.
