Dr G Jagadeesh, Advisor and Scientist, Division of Cardiovascular and Renal Products, Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, US Food and Drug Administration, Silver Spring, Maryland, USA, visited MCOPS on 8 November 2016. In the morning session he stressed upon the new areas of cardiovascular research. He delivered his lecture on the topic “The never ending story of Angiotensin II: Drugs targeting the Renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system in the treatment of hypertension and other cardiovascular disease”. Post-lunch, he spoke on scientific writing and shared his experiences in writing, reviewing the manuscripts for the publication. Staff and students of MCOPS interacted with Dr Jagadeesh for their queries related to research and scientific writing. Dr N Udupa, Director Research, Manipal Academy of Higher Education was also present during the occasion.
