Observance of Rashtriya Sadbhavana Diwas with fervour

Rashtriya Sadbhavana Diwas [Harmony day] is celebrated to commemorate the 72nd birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi,former Prime Minister of India. At MCOPS, the celebration was a spectacular event, truly signifying national integration, unity and communal harmony conducted by MAPS along with department of pharmaceutical chemistry. Dr Alex Joseph, associate professor, pharmaceutical chemistry introduced the chief guest, Dr Nikhil Govind, Head of Manipal centre for philosophy and humanities. Dr Nikhil enlightened the students on issues of humanity, compassions and idealism. He imbibed an ethical citizenship within the student fraternity of differing communities, where universal ethics stepped forward to set in harmony. Dr Govind encouraged the students to think of life beyond exams. The astounding speech of the chief guest ended with an exciting interactive session with the students left in a profound air of ethics. Dr Varadaraj Bhat, associate professor, pharmaceutical chemistry presented a token of appreciation to Dr Nikhil. Towards the end, spirits were held high by undertaking the Sadbhavana Diwas pledge for a harmonious sojourn ahead.
