Innovative Communication Club, MCOPS Organized Research Orientation

A Research Orientation Program was conducted for the benefit of first MPharm students by Innovative Communication Club, MCOPS on 31 May 2022 in PG Gundu Rao Hall, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal. The program began with a welcome address by Dr. C Mallikarjuna Rao, Principal, MCOPS. Dr. Raviraja N S, Professor & Coordinator, Manipal Center for Biotherapeutics Research, & Director, Corporate Relations, MAHE Manipal was present as chief guest who guided the students on positive approaches towards research and the importance of being honest and consistent in it. Various faculty members from MCOPS delivered talks on research. Dr. Yogendra Nayak, Coordinator, PG research orientation spoke on literature search tools, journals, and databases and their optimum use for research. Dr. Madhavan Nampoothiri elaborated on manuscript writing, dissertation writing, and critical factors that are to be considered in the same. Mr. Sanjay Kulkarni took a session on using reference manager, and citation tools. Mrs. Ramya Ravi focused on the patent filing process and the eligibility criteria for the same. The concluding session was by Dr. Virendra S Ligade who guided the students on presentation skills, self-confidence, and other aspects involved in professional life. The program concluded with a feedback test and a vote of thanks by Mr. Ajinkya Nikam, President, I2C. About 130 PG students attended the program and interacted with the speakers. Mrs. Divya Dhatri, Research Scholar, MCOPS coordinated the program.
