Centre for CGMP, MAHE, Manipal received prestigious India Pharma Awards 2024 for Excellence in Quality as Special Recognition Award vide proposal submitted by the Centre for cGMP, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, for the unique initiative of conceptualizing the world’s first-ever digital museum on pharmaceutical quality “MANIPAL cGMP MUSEUM” dedicated to Dr TMA Pai, Padmashree Awardee, founder and architect of Manipal. The Centre for cGMP had submitted details that consisted of Entity information, Quality Control system implemented by the centre, Innovation highlighting the use of technology, Training modules adopted, Data demonstrating processes and methodologies, Certifications and Appreciations received for the initiative including Measurable impacts, etc. A total of 276 proposals were submitted by various pharma industries and academic institutions, however only a few outstanding proposals were chosen for the final jury meeting. Amid very high competition under the category, EXCELLENCE IN QUALITY, the Centre for cGMPs proposal was selected for the final grand jury meeting. The selection process involved due diligence, validation of submitted documents and a thorough review process by Jury consisting of six members.

Centre for cGMP received the invitation from Ernst and Young LLP to present the concept of conceptualizing “MANIPAL cGMP MUSEUM” in person at New Delhi. EY was appointed as the PROCESS ADVISORS for the INDIA PHARMA AWARDS 2024, CPHI – PMEC India. The Final Jury Round for the awards was held on 25 November 2024, at SHANGRI LA, New Delhi.  Dr. Girish Pai K, Coordinator, and Dr. Muddukrishna BS, Co-coordinator, were nominated by MAHE, Manipal, to represent the Center for cGMP and presented 3-minute presentation in front of the jury members. The three-minute presentation covered the information such as details of the initiative and measurable impacts, key evaluating parameters namely, quality control systems, innovation in quality management, regulatory compliance, internal training & development and cost and efficiency. Dr. Girish Pai K, Coordinator of Centre for cGMP, presented it to the Esteemed Grand Jury Panel. Jury members also interacted with Dr. Girish Pai and Dr. Muddukrishna during the 2-minute Question & Answer session. The jury members were highly impressed with the initiative, innovation, and concept and appreciated the Centre for cGMP for creating a long-lasting societal impact for a noble cause.

 

The prestigious INDIA PHARMA AWARDS 2024 was announced and declared at the “Awards Ceremony” on Day 1 of CPHI-PMEC India at India Expo Center, Greater Noida, New Delhi, where more than 2000 exhibitors of stalls by various pharma industries across the world from 150 plus countries, with approximately 50000+ registered delegates. Fraom academia, its only Centre for cGMP and IIT Bombay who made it to the finals of INDIA PHARMA AWARDS. Centre for cGMP, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (Institution of Eminence), Manipal, is the only Academic Institute to have received this award for the second time. The prestigious award was received by Dr Girish Pai K and Dr Muddukrishna from Mr. Balachandra Barve, Joint Managing Director, Blue Cross Laboratories Ltd. in the August presence of Industry leaders, luminaries, pharmaceutical entrepreneurs and Executives from companies of high repute.
