Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS), MAHE, is proud to welcome Dr. Prabhakara Nagareddy, an eminent researcher in cardiovascular and cardiometabolic diseases, as an International Visiting Faculty. This marks Dr. Nagareddy’s first visit to MCOPS as International Faculty, where he will contribute to academic and research activities until January 2025.

Dr. Nagareddy serves as a Professor at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC), with adjunct appointments in Biochemistry, Physiology, and Pathology. He has an exceptional academic and research profile, with NIH grants, and numerous awards, including the prestigious International Visiting Professorship Award from the American Heart Association.

His research focuses on understanding the inflammatory and hematopoietic mechanisms underlying cardiometabolic diseases, particularly exploring the NLRP3 inflammasome and its implications in systemic inflammation and thrombopoiesis. Dr. Nagareddy’s work aims to identify and repurpose therapeutic agents to combat cardiovascular complications effectively.

During his time at MCOPS, Dr. Nagareddy will engage in collaborative research initiatives, deliver lectures, and mentor faculty and students. His expertise is expected to inspire groundbreaking advancements, foster international collaboration and elevate research excellence at MCOPS.
