A guest lecture was organized on 23 August 2024 by the Department of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, MAHE, Manipal. Dr Regina Shramila Dass, Assistant Professor from the School of Life Sciences, Pondicherry Central University delivered a talk on “Morphological Analysis and Barcoding as Analytical Tools to Study the Biological Implications of Fungi” where she spoke in detail on her research work carried out at academia as well as through collaboration with industries with focus on developing different gourmet coffee concerning product development using yeasts and studying their role in coffee fermentation with the native Araku tribals of the Vishakhapatnam region. Faculty and students from MCOPS, MIT, KMC, and other institutions under MAHE attended the lecture. Following the talk, a memento was presented to Dr. Dass by Dr. Srinivas Mutalik, Principal, MCOPS, MAHE, Manipal, and Dr. Raghu Chandrashekar H., HOD, Department of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, MCOPS, MAHE, Manipal. A total of 60 participants attended the talk.
