Department of Pharmaceutics, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS), MAHE, Manipal organized a Guest Lecture entitled “Importance of Excipient in Quality of Pharmaceuticals” on 27 October 2023. Dr Rajkiran Narkhede, Senior Manager, Technical Services, BASF Pharma Solutions, Innovation Campus, BASF India Ltd., was the resource person.

Dr Rajkiran, discussed various excipients and their purpose, facilitating the overall delivery and administration of the drug followed by novel formulation technologies and advancements in excipients for instant and modified release. The talk also covered various challenges in developing novel excipients and limitations in the availability of comprehensive data on the long-term stability and potential side effects of novel excipients.
