Dr. Surulivelrajan M, Professor & Head Department of Pharmacy Practice and the Coordinator for the Centre for Pharmacometrics at MAHE has taken over as the President of the SOPHAS (www.sophas.net). SOPHAS is a society focused on the objective to serve as a platform for education, training, exchange and research for the academic community, industry scientists and regulators with an interest in quantitative and translational research in the entire gamut of drug development, its optimal use and health care data analysis.
The society has its roots in Population Approach group in India, which was running training programs and workshops in the area of pharmacometrics since 2008. PAGIN was founded by Late Dr. Ramalingam Sankaran, Dean of PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and research. Along with Dr. Rajan, other officials also have taken charge.
The new team is focused on developing training programs, conducting courses and organizing international level conferences in India in the area of pharmacometrics. The team will reach out with all the stakeholders in the area of pharmacometrics and expand the activities of SOPHAS.
