Council for Exemplary Research, MCOPS, MAHE, Manipal conducted a One-Day Faculty Development Workshop on ‘Research Strategy: Introduction to Execution’ on 03 June 2024 at Prof. P Gundu Rao Conference Hall, MCOPS, Manipal.

Dr. Sharath Kumar Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Health Sciences), Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, inaugurated the program and delivered the inaugural address. In his talk, he emphasized the need for enhancing leadership, communication, and mentoring skills of the researchers. He reiterated that the research-intensive institutes should focus not only on publications but also on IPRs and technology transfer. Dr. Srinivas Mutalik, Principal, MCOPS gave the overview of the workshop and delivered the welcome address, and Dr. Krishnamurthy Bhat, Vice-Principal, MCOPS, expressed the note of gratitude during the inaugural program.

The resource persons, Dr. Santhosh KV, Deputy Director - Research (Technical & Management), Directorate of Research, MAHE, Manipal, Dr. Bharti Chongtu  Magazine, Deputy Director - Research (Health Sciences), Directorate of Research, MAHE, Manipal, Dr. Muralidhar M Kulkarni, Professor, Dept. of Community Medicine, KMC, MAHE, Manipal, Mr. Baskaran Chandraseharan, HoD Incharge, Dept. of Exercise and Sports Sciences, MCHP, MAHE, Manipal, Dr.  Maninder Singh, Assistant Professor & Chairman – LADC & YLP, TAPMI, MAHE, Manipal and Dr. Naveen Salins, Associate Dean, Professor and Head, Dept. of Palliative Medicine and Supportive Care, KMC, MAHE, Manipal, spoke on topics of relevance such as Journal Metrics, MAHE Research Policies and Scientific Misconduct, Data Integrity and Research Ethics, AI writing tools, Personality Development: Collaborative Research Perspectives, Critical Thinking and Academic Writing respectively. The speakers engaged the participants through interactive sessions, case studies, and activities. The program was co-ordinated by Dr. Usha Y Nayak, Research Coordinator & Professor, Dept of Pharmaceutics, MCOPS, and her team members.

About 60 Faculty members of MCOPS actively participated in this workshop. This workshop provided a fantastic learning opportunity for replenishing their research knowledge.
