Observance of Matribhasha Diwas (Mother Tongue Day) at MCOPS

Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS), Manipal celebrated the Matribhasha Diwas on February 21, 2022, on the theme "Using technology for multilingual learning: Challenges and opportunities." The event started with the welcoming of the gathering by Miss Fatimazahra Murtaza Gulamhussein Moledina Manji. Chief Guest for the occasion Dr. M. K. Unnikrishnan, Professor, NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, NITTE University, Mangalore, delivered the keynote address on the "Mother tongue: Potential role in cognitive development and intellectual growth". He addressed students about the cultural values of their mother tongue, emphasizing the need of students to exhibit love and respect for their mother tongue as well as respect other languages. Ph.D. scholars and students from all branches of pharmacy participated in the program. Dr. Prasanna Kumar, Assistant Professor- Selection Grade, Department of Pharmacy Practice, MCOPS, MAHE, Manipal proposed the vote of thanks.
