Society for the Study of Xenobiotics (SSX), India was established in 2016 as a non-profitable association, with the mission to develop and augment the knowledge of DMPK/ADMET science to the Indian scientific community.

The 7th annual conference of the Society for the Study of Xenobiotics (SSX-2024) was jointly organized by SSX-India and Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), from 2nd February 2024 to 3rd February 2024, held at 3rd floor of Dr. TMA Pai Hall, Manipal.

Three parallel pre-conference workshops were held on 1st February 2024, at The Health Science Library and Centre for Microfluidics, Biomarkers, Photoceutics & Sensors (µBioPS), Academic Block 2, MIT, followed by 2 days of main conference.

Pre-conference workshop (Day-1) provided overview of Non-Clinical Toxicology in Drug Discovery and Development , information about Application of Pharmacometrics in drug development decisions as well as HepaRG- the unique human hepatic cell model: cell culture basics and characterisation

Around 35 participants attended each of these workshops. Main conference themes were, Application of AI/ML to predict ADMET, Emerging methods in translational ADME for Personalized medicine, Challenges and Advancements in herbal drug development, Advancement in prediction of Drug induced toxicity. There was total 19 speakers and 2 keynote speakers from USA, Japan and India coming from Industry, Academics and various organizations like Gilead, BioIVT and so on. The program was Inaugurated by the guest of honors, president of SSX India, Dr. Thanga Mariappan and the local chairperson Dr. Surulivel Rajan M. Around 300 participants attended the main conference. The conference was received well among the pharmaceutical industry with 17 sponsors from various pharma companies and delegates from more than 12 organizations taking part in the conference. A banquet dinner was arranged for networking and collaboration, and some cultural events like Chanda mela were organized.

Four Oral and 51 scientific Posters were presented out of which one best oral presentation was given a prize money of 10,000 rupees along with Dr. Saranjit Singh student award, and three best poster presentations were also given a prize money of 10,000 rupees each. The program closed on 3rd February with a vote of thanks by the secretary of the society, Dr. Anoop Kumar, followed by Valedictory Function.
