Mr. Rakesh Ravishankar Rahangdale who is currently pursuing PhD under the guidance of Dr. Raghu Chandrashekar H, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, MCOPS, MAHE, Manipal received the Global Scholar Travel Award by the American Society for Virology (International travel grant), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. The award coveres expenses of up to $3,000, including airfare, registration and accommodation. The candidate presented his research work entitled ''Investigation of anti-HSV activity of nectin-1 derived peptides using in-silico and in-vitro approaches'' under the guidance of Dr. Raghu Chandrashekar H, Dr. Mukesh Pasupuleti, and Dr. Shaik Mohammad Abdul Fayaz at the 43rd Annual Meeting of the American Society for Virology (ASV) held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio hosted by The Ohio State University during 24 to 28 June, 2024.
