Dr Mahesh Burande delivered a talk on “The National Education Policy 2020 and importance of Pharma Skill Development”. He emphasized skill development as a central aspect of educational reform, aiming to make students more adaptable and career-ready in a rapidly changing global economy. Recognizing the need to go beyond traditional learning, NEP 2020 introduces a flexible and multidisciplinary curriculum that integrates vocational education, coding, critical thinking, and soft skills from an early age. The policy envisions an education system where students develop practical skills in tandem with academic knowledge, preparing them for a range of career paths and fostering entrepreneurial abilities. Overall, the policy seeks to create a skill-oriented workforce, positioning India as a global leader in innovation and productivity.

Dr Burande also provided valuable insights into the essential skills pharmacy professionals need to achieve zero error in the pharmaceutical industry, which greatly benefited all attendees. He also elaborated on the job responsibilities associated with the role of a professor of practice, capturing everyone’s attention. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of establishing an entrepreneurship cell in pharmacy colleges, explaining how it could inspire, and support students interested in launching their own ventures in the pharmaceutical field. Overall, Dr Burande’s visit was immensely valuable, both for the students and faculty.

The "Attitude to Altitude" talk, delivered by Mr Sameer Burande, CEO of Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research was an inspiring session focused on cultivating a growth-oriented mindset to achieve success. Mr. Burande emphasized the importance of a positive attitude as a driving force behind personal and professional growth, equating it to the foundation needed to reach “altitudes” or higher levels of achievement.

Mr Burande in his talk explained attitude and discipline, each letter corresponds to a numerical value according to its alphabetical order (A=1, B=2, etc.), the letters in "Attitude" and "Discipline" add up to 100 when calculated this way. Attitude determines how we approach every challenge and opportunity in life; with a positive attitude totaling to 100, we can overcome obstacles and create success and Discipline is the foundation of consistency and achievement; with a disciplined mindset totaling to 100, we ensure progress toward our goals with focus and dedication.

Throughout the talk, Mr Burande used real-life examples to illustrate how a proactive attitude can transform setbacks into learning experiences, fostering continuous improvement. He encouraged participants to believe in their potential, set ambitious goals, and take consistent steps toward them. The session left attendees motivated and equipped with practical strategies to develop a winning mindset, proving that one’s attitude truly determines their altitude in life.

He explained more about key skill requirements needed for pharmacy professionals to achieve zero error in the Pharmaceutical industry which was helpful for all attendees.  He also added points on job responsibilities of professor of practice which created extra focus. He explained about the importance of entrepreneurship cell committee at pharmacy college which will have greater scope and could Ignite many ideas for ones who tend to start business in pharmaceutical areas. Overall Mr Burande’s visit was an asset for the attendees as well as for the college.
