Curriculum Conclave 2024

Manipal College of Nursing (MCON), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, organized the 10th Curriculum Conclave on November 12, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 1.00 PM. The curriculum plays a vital role in the education system of every institution, serving as a framework that outlines the structure, content, and sequence of learning experiences for students.
Dr. Linu Sara George, Professor and Head, Department of Fundamentals of Nursing, and Pillar 1 Head, Excellence in Education, MCON, welcomed the gathering. An overview of the curriculum conclave and introduction to the resource person was provided by Mrs. Janet Alva, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, MCON and Convenor of the conclave. Dr. Savitha Prabhu, Assistant Professor-Senior Scale, Department of Psychiatric (Mental Health) Nursing, and Co-convenor of the conclave, proposed a vote of thanks.
"The curriculum is like the wind—something we can feel but cannot see; it is dynamic and collaborative," said Dr. Sreejith Govindan, Deputy Registrar – Evaluation, Health Sciences, MAHE, Manipal, and Associate Professor of Microbiology, Department of Basic Medical Sciences, MAHE, Manipal, who was the resource person at the conclave. He emphasized that the curriculum has evolved from the 5‘D’s: Definition, Discovery, Dream, Design, and Destiny. He elaborated on those steps through Appreciative Inquiry with small and large group discussions.
