Continuing Nursing Education

A National level Continuing Nursing Education Programme (Virtual mode in zoom platform) on “Nursing - Today and Beyond” was organized by the First Year MSc Nursing students of MCON, MAHE, Manipal on 19th May 2022 from 2 pm - 5 pm as part of their nursing education curricular requirement. Dr. Binil V, faculty convenor welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Prof. Lorna Moxham, UOW, Australia. She deliberated on the importance of nurses in various expanded and extended roles and how nurses can grow in their profession. Dr. Judith A Noronha, Dean, MCON emphasized nursing as a profession where in the future nurses have to keep caring as their focus amidst technological advancement. Nurses today are faced with various challenges, and they have to strive for excellence while providing comprehensive care to patients.

A total of 157 participants including nursing students, staff nurses, and faculty members attended the CNE. Mrs. Sriparna Giri, Mrs. Pritha Sarkar, Mr. Vipin George, Mrs. Febu Elizabeth Joy, Mrs. Bindu Antony, Ms. Rupa Meshram, and Mrs. Sagarika Ray were the speakers from various specialties who have highlighted the roles and scope of their area of work. The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Reena Veneciya Dsouza, the student convener.
