Workshop on Nursing Research Methodology 22nd to 24th February 2016

The Research methodology workshop was conducted from 22nd - 24th February 2016 attended by 18 participants from CON ACME, Pariyaram and CON Thalassery.

Students have visited KMC Health Sciences Library, Virtual tour/Experience Theatre and Marena sports complex. Representatives from each college given their feedback of the three days workshop. Concluding remarks was given by the Coordinator of the programme Dr Mamatha S Pai. Dr. Anice George, Dean, Manipal College of Nursing Manipal emphasized on conducting research in clinical and in educational institution to improve quality health care.
Certificates were distributed to the participants by Dr. Anice George, Dean Manipal College of Nursing Manipal. The participants appreciated the workshop and expressed that the sessions were very useful. 

Dr Anice George, Dean, Manipal College of Nursing Manipal and Director of Nursing Education, Manipal formally welcomed the gathering and Dr Mamatha S Pai, Professor and Coordinator of the workshop gave an overview of the workshop. Associate Dean, HoD’s of various departments of the college, were present during the inaugural function.

Dr Tessy Treesa Jose, Prof and HoD, Psychiatric Nursing taken sessions on Literature search and Research proposal preparation. The next session in the afternoon was by Dr Linu Sara George, Professor and HoD, Fundamentals of Nursing, MCON Manipal on Research designs and Research report writing. Methods of data collection including validity and reliability, Introduction to qualitative study was dealt by Dr Mamatha S Pai, Professor and HoD, Child Health Nursing, MCON Manipal. Ms Ashma Dorothy Monteiro, Dept of Statistics, MU, took the session on Use of SPSS, Data coding and Data entry and hands on experience on SPSS. Test of Significance, sample size estimation and analysis and interpretation of data was dealt by Dr.Binu V, Associate Professor, Dept of Statistics, MU.
