Report on the Guest lecture "Industry expectations from Graduate Nurses"

The Innovations, IPR & Consultancy Vertical of Pillar II: Exemplary Research & Innovation, Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal organized the guest lecture on “Industry Expectations from graduate nurses” on 31 December 2024 for the final year B.Sc Nursing students of MCON. The resource person Captain Ajitha Nair, CEO of KIMSHEALTH Hospital, Kottayam, Kerala, and National President of the Association of Nurse Executives, India (ANEI), deliberated the session and highlighted the various aspects of industry expectations from graduate nurses which includes, the right attitude of nurse and attitude of learning, advancement in professional knowledge, taking newer initiatives, volunteering for themselves for various work in emergencies, demonstration of professionalism in everyday life, patient safety & accuracy of work, honesty, compassion, accurate practice and right insights, professional competency, Good IPR & Communication skills, and discipline, etc. The session also gave insights into the challenges that would be faced by the newly graduate nurses to the students. A total of 90 students attended the guest lecture. This program has contributed towards achieving SDG -4 Quality education. The overall program was convened by Dr. Jeyalakshmi K, & Dr. Savitha Prabhu, Assistant Professors – Senior scale, Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal.
