MAHE SRF ONLINE TRAINING PROGRAM ON ‘MEDICAL EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID’

Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal, delivered a 3-day online training program on 'Medical Emergency & First-Aid' organized by MAHE Student Research Forum, under the aegis of Directorate of Research, MAHE, Manipal from 18 August to 20 August 2021, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The resource persons for the three days program were Dr. Melita Sheilini, Assistant Professor-Selection Grade, Dept. of Medical-Surgical Nursing, MCON, Manipal; Mrs. Shalini G Nayak, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Medical-Surgical Nursing, MCON, Manipal; and Mr. Vinish V, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Community Health Nursing, MCON, Manipal.

On day one, Mr. Vinish gave a brief introduction to first aid and explained the first-aid management of different types of fracture. On the 2nd day of the online training program, Mrs. Shalini explained in detail the first aid for choking and cardiac arrest for infants, children, and adults. On the 3rd day, Dr. Melita explained the first aid management for sprain, dislocation, different kinds of wounds, poisoning, and many other topics of emergency. There were 213 participants from around the world to attend the program. All the participants appreciated the online training program and will be provided with e-certificates. The closing remarks were given by Dr. Judith A Noronha, Dean, MCON, where she thanked the Directorate of Research, MAHE; the Director-Research, Dr. Satish Rao BS, & the Deputy Director-Research, Dr. Bharti Chogtu Magazine, and all other Advisors of Directorate of Research, for creating such a platform, which encourages research and learning. She also congratulated Monalisa Saikia, PhD Scholar & President, MCON SRF, all the student representatives, and members of the MAHE Student Research Forum for organizing the event and making it successful.
