Manipal College of Nursing Manipal, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, organized a half day workshop on Research Utilization and EBP at 6th floor class room, MCON Manipal on March 20, 2018.
The objective of the workshop was to gain information on Research Utilization and EBP. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Kader Parahoo, Professor in Nursing Research and School of Nursing & Institute of Nursing Research, University of Ulster, Northern Ireland. The workshop started at 9.00 am with the welcome address and introduction of the resource person by Mrs. Manjula, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Health Nursing, MCON, MAHE.
The formal workshop sessions started at 9.05 am on research utilization which was focussed on gap between knowledge production and knowledge use, the current focus on impact, opportunities and the challenges in research utilization. The second session was on Evidence Based Practice which was held after the tea break. The resource person emphasized on role and responsibilities of stakeholders in evidence-based practice.
A total of 25 participants from different institutions participated in the workshop. All the participants actively involved in the workshop. The workshop came to an end at 12.30 noon with a concluding remarks by Dr. Judith A Noronha, Associate Dean, MCON, MAHE, Manipal. Dr. Kader Parahoo, the resource person awarded the workshop certificates to the participants.
