Guest Lecture on Unity Day

The National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated every year on October 31st to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s first Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This year will mark the 147th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, who is also known as the Iron Man of India. The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas provides an opportunity to reaffirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation towards upholding the unity, integrity, and security of our country.
The Education Committee of Student Nurses’ Association 2022 -23 of Manipal College of Nursing Manipal has organized a Guest Lecture on the theme "Sardar Patel- The Architect of Unification” on 31st October 2022 between 3:00 pm & 4:00 pm as part of University Grant Commission (UGC) activity. Mr. Shreeraj Gudi, Assistant Professor, Manipal Institute of Communication, MAHE, Manipal was the resource person. He spoke about Unity in diversity, how independence was brought, the Indian Independence Act, and its recommendations. He emphasized about the British rules and how Sardar Patel played a pivotal role in uniting the country.
The session was conducted at Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal classroom. A total of 98 students from the Third Semester BSc Nursing attended the session. The program was coordinated by Ms. Ashley Sajan Valleena, Ms. Melin Mathew, Ms. Arpitha Jaison, SNA Education Committee Representatives, and Mrs. Janet Prameela Dsouza, Mrs. Flavia Noronha, SNA Education Committee Advisors.
