Report of CPR program

The faculty of Manipal College of Nursing (MCON) and Manipal School of Nursing (MSON), MAHE, Manipal conducted CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) training programme for the non-teaching staff of MCON and MSON Manipal on 25th September 2018 from 2-5 pm at Simulation lab, library building, 6th floor, MAHE.

Dr. Melita Sheilini, Asst.Professor-Selection Grade, MCON lead the sessions highlighting on the importance of CPR as a life saving measure for the victims of cardiac arrest, it’s scope and limitations. This was followed by the demonstration on steps of adult CPR, Child CPR and the infant CPR including the management for choking in case of adults, children and infants.

The participants were divided into three groups and were given the opportunity to practice on the mannequins the steps of providing CPR and rescue measures for choking. The group activities were coordinated by Dr.Melita along with Mrs.Edith Jovita & Mrs.Soumya Acharya, Assistant Lecturers from MSON, MAHE, Manipal. Total of 19 non-teaching staff attended the program and actively engaged themselves at the CPR skill stations.
