Report of International Clinical Placement 2019 University College of Nordjylland, Denmark

As part of international clinical placement, three students of BSN program from the University College Nordjylland from Denmark had observership program at Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal.

Two students Ms. Emilie M Jensen and Ms. Emma R Hansen had posting for two weeks and Ms. Vibeke Pederson for a period of 10 weeks from 26/08/2019 to 31/10/2019. They had clinical posting in the field of Medical surgical Nursing, which included emergency department, operation theatre and ICUs, Community Health Nursing including home visit, visit to Primary Health Center, Maternal and Child Welfare Centers by MAHE, urban slum, Anganawadi center and Mental Health rehabilitation center - Hombelaku with a purpose of acquiring international clinical experience. Students also had observational visit to experience theatre, Health Sciences Library, Mareena, Department of Yoga, Department of Ayurveda and MAPS.

The report presentation was conducted on 31/10/19 and the effectiveness of the posting was discussed. Ms Vibeke Pederson expressed her learning experience at MAHE as effective and productive. Mr. Anil Raj A, Lecturer, Dept of Medical Surgical Nursing, Mrs. Flavia Sharlet Noronha, Lecturer, Dept of Mental Health Nursing and Mrs. Regeena Mathew, Lecturer, Dept of Community Health Nursing coordinated the clinical posting in Medical Surgical wards, Mental Health rehabilitation center – Hombelaku and community areas respectively.
The observership program was coordinated by Dr. Shashidhara Y N, Professor and Head, Dept of Community Health Nursing, MCON, MAHE and Ms. Regeena Mathew, Lecturer, MCON.
