Career Guidance and Preparation for Exam

An outreach programme was conducted by the Mental Health Nursing Department of Manipal College of Nursing in the Christ School, Manipal, on 05.02.2015 on the topic ‘Career guidance and Preparation for Exam’.

Programme started at 11.00 am as Mr Pavan, 9th standard student of Christ School welcomed Dr Blessy PrabhaValsaraj, Associate Professor in the department of Mental Health Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing, Sr Jecintha, Academic Coordinator of Christ School, Mr Dane Rogers and Mr Manish Kaushik, MSc Nursing students of Manipal College of Nursing, teachers and the students of Christ School to the interactive session.

About 50 students of class 9th and 10th standard and five teachers of Christ school, Manipal attended the session. Mr. Dane Rogers elaborated the students about various career options available and how to go about in choosing the right career and also on the right way to prepare for exams.
 

Further Dr Blessy Prabha Valsaraj enlightened the audience on the importance of systematic approach to exam and the ideal method of managing time and organizing answers. The students actively took part in discussion and they asked doubts such as how to tackle exam anxiety, ways to relax and which foods to be taken during exam time. Dr Blessy Prabha Valsaraj clarified their doubts. They were able to understand and interpret the session well. Programme got over at 12 pm.

The academic coordinator Sr Jecintha gave the feedback that the programme was beneficial to all the students in preparing effectively for exam and to choose their career.

The school ambience was very good and students and teachers were very cooperative. Finally, vote of thanks was given by Ms. Shradha Pai, 10thgrade student of Christ school.
