International students' Observational Visit: EdgeHill University, UK (30th August & 9th September 2022)

Four Nursing students from EdgeHill University had their Observational Visit to Manipal College of Nursing Manipal for two weeks between 30th August & 9th September 2022. As part of this program, students observed the activities in adult oncology wards, including day care chemotherapy unit, Maternity and Child health wards, Rehabilitation Centre- Hombelaku and Day Care Centre for the mentally challenged (Asare), Occupational therapy, Speech therapy, Access Life- home for parents of children with cancer belonging to Pediatric Hemato Oncology. In addition to this, these students had rural community home visits and visits to the primary health center.
They also had observational visits to the experience theatre, Health Sciences Library, Marena sports facilities, Department of Yoga and Ayurveda, and Manipal Museum of Anatomy and Pathology (MAP). Students also participated in the beach cleaning activity organized by the VSO. EdgeHill students interacted with students of MCON and attended sessions on Vital statistics in India. Besides observing these activities, the faculty and students participated actively in Teachers’ Day and Onam celebrations.
The Observational Visit was concluded with the feedback report presentation on September 9, 2022. Students expressed various learning experiences that they received during their stay. The overall program was coordinated by the faculty members from the Department of Fundamentals of Nursing, MCON, MAHE, Manipal.
