Report of Children's Day Celebration

The faculty, first year MSc Nursing students and third year BSc Nursing students of department of Child Health Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing Manipal organized children’s day programme on 15th and 17th November 2016 at Asha Nilaya, a home for the mentally challenged children, Udupi and CSI boy’s orphanage, Snehalaya, Udupi respectively.

At Asha Nilaya


In the beginning, various games were conducted for the children. The formal program started with prayer song and welcome speech by students. The students of MCON performed dance and action songs to entertain them.  

The children from Asha Nilaya also gave their best performance in the form of dance and singing. The prizes for the winners in games were distributed. Mrs. Shashikala, In-charge Principal, appreciated the program and suggested to have such programs in the future. At the end, sweets were distributed to all the children.  

At Snehalaya


The programme commenced with organising various games to the children in four different groups. The formal program started with a lively group song by students of Snehalaya.  

This was followed by various performances by the students of MCON such as song, dance and action song. Mrs Clara Ambler, Incharge of the institute, distributed the prizes for the winners in games. During her address, she congratulated the prize winners and appreciated the students of MCON for organising a wonderful program. All the children actively participated in the games and enjoyed the event. The entire programme was coordinated by Mrs. Sangeetha P and Mrs. Sheela Shetty, Assistant Professors, MCON, Manipal.
