Manipal College of Nursing Manipal celebrated Matribhasha Diwas on 21st February 2017 to promote various mother tongue and culture of the nation.
Manipal College of Nursing Manipal celebrated Matribhasha Diwas on 21st February 2017 to promote various mother tongue and culture of the nation.
As a part of the celebration, Student Nurses’ Association organized singing competition. Students sang songs in their mother tongue such as Bengali, Hindi, Konkani, Malayalam and Tibetan language. Mrs. Prima D’Souza, Advisor, Student Nurses’ Association, informed about the significance of celebrating Matribhasha Diwas and its objectives. Ms. Chhanda Chakraborty first year MSc Nursing student described the history of Matribhasha Diwas.
Dr. Shashidhara YN, Head, Department of Community Health Nursing and Mr. Jomon, Lecturer, Department of Fundamentals of Nursing judged the competition. Ms. Eva Jennifer Martis of 2nd year BSc Nursing won the first prize, Ms. Shiny Ruby D’Silva and Ms Amrutha Jimmy of first year Nursing won second and third prizes respectively. Dean and the faculty also attended the program.
