As part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, 75 years of India’s Independence, the Department of Community Health Nursing, organized a webinar on "Awareness on Healthy Lifestyles" on 22/09/2021.
Mrs Swathi Acharya K, Assistant Professor - Senior Scale, Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration(WGSHA), MAHE, Manipal sensitized the participants that good nutrition plays an important role in maintaining health. She encouraged the students to consume more fruits and vegetables and avoid junk foods. She illustrated the selection of nutrient-dense food when compared to energy-dense food. She also narrated with examples on Mindful eating which is essential for weight management and good health. She also highlighted the importance of physical activity and sound sleep and also provided tips for good sleep.
A total of 178 participants attended the session which included nursing students, faculty, and non-teaching staff of Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal.
