After two years of a break due to covid pandemic, the students of Manipal college of nursing were all excited to have the fun-filled, colorful, and memorable cultural fest of MCON “THE IMPRINTZ” on 30th November 2022 at Dr. TMA Pai Auditorium, KMC, Manipal. In this mega cultural fest, students took part in various events. The program started with a mime competition and was followed by the distribution of proficiency certificates by the Dean, MCON, Dr. Judith A Noronha.

Dr. Suneel C Mundkur, Professor, Department of Paediatrics KMC, Manipal was the chief guest for the inaugural program. The program begins with a melodious prayer song, seeking the blessing of the goddess by Ms. Shreelaxmi, I Year BSc Nursing student. Mr. Sohan Lawrence, SNA president welcomed the gathering. The chief guest congratulated the Student Nurses’ Association for organizing a cultural event like this. He conveyed his best wishes for the day-long cultural competitions. Ms. Rhea Racheal Philips, SNA Cultural chairperson proposed the vote of thanks.

The inaugural ceremony was followed by various cultural competitions which were conducted groupwise. Ms. Alfiya Mohammed and Ms. Seirra Ann Saji, students of III BSc Nursing were the hosts of the event. There was singing, classical and non-classical dance, western and folk dance, and the most awaited one was the fashion show. Everyone sat glued to the show. The judges, faculty, and students of MCON were impressed and they praised the entire event. It was followed by the announcement of the ever-rolling trophy in the memory of late Mr. Sharon Wilson to the best dance group ‘Crescent”. The IMPRINTZ Overall Championship trophy was bagged by team Nightingales with a total score of 280 points. The points of other groups were Magnus-260, Crescents- 245, and Ophelia -200. Everyone enjoyed the program and dispersed with a sincere hope that the cultural events should be organized every year giving the students a chance to display their talents. As part of IMPRINTZ, the competitions like Craft making, Classical vocal solo, non-classical vocal solo, Mimicry, Mad ads, and instrumental solo were conducted off-stage in the college between October 10 to 16, 2022.
