Report on effective alumni engagement -Guest lecture series 06/2022
Dept. of Child Health Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal has organized an alumni guest lecture on the topic ‘Assertiveness in Communication’ on 28th March 2022 between 11.00 am & 12.00 noon. Ms Rachana Das, Unit Nursing Lead for Nursing Quality and Nursing Education, Aster RV Hospital, Bengaluru (alumnus of MCON, Mphil Nursing 2011– 2014 batch, MSc Nursing 2008-2010 batch) explained the differences in passive, aggressive and assertive behaviour.
During her speech, she said an increase in self-confidence, better communication and lesser guilt are the benefits of assertiveness. She shared her experience by narrating clinical examples of how to be assertive. The session was conducted as a webinar in Microsoft Teams and was attended by 97 IV year BSc Nursing students and four faculty members.
