Inservice program report - 2024

The Department of Community Health Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing (MCON), MAHE, Manipal, along with the students of I year MSc Nursing, organised a session on the topic of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as part of in-service education for ASHA workers on June 6, 2024, from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm at the Community Health Center, Brahmavara.
The program was started with a welcome speech by Mrs Clara, I year MSc student, MCON. The purpose of the session was initially explained to the participants. The session was conducted using the lecture method with demonstration techniques of CPR such as chest compressions, rescue breaths, and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), followed by a demonstration using a mannequin, an AMBU bag, and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Hands-on training was provided for those who were voluntarily willing to show the re-demonstration. A total of 22 ASHA workers, 3 ANM, and one CHO attended the program. Mrs Surekha, I year MSc student, MCON conveyed a vote of thanks.
The program contributed to SDG 3 & 4. The overall program was coordinated by Mr. Vinish V, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Health Nursing, with the support of the entire departmental faculty under the guidance of Dr Shashidhara Y N, Head of Departmental of Community Health Nursing, MCON, MAHE Manipal and Dr. Mahesh Aithal, CMO, CHC Brahmavara.
