Report of Annual Day and Lamp Lighting 2025

Annual Day and Lamp Lighting ceremony of Manipal School of Nursing, MCON, MAHE Manipal was held on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Dr. Anice George, Professor and Head, Research and Collaboration MCON, MAHE, Manipal was the chief guest for the program. She congratulated the students who lit the lamp and addressed the importance of lighting the lamp. She addressed freshers regarding the confidence and psychomotor skills required in the nursing profession, where nurses are giving hope rather than mechanical care.

Dr. Anice emphasized about the proper utilization of AI technology along with human touch. She congratulated the graduates on completing the formal academic training, which is the beginning of informal lifelong learning.

Dr. Judith A. Noronha, Dean, MCON, MAHE, Manipal, in her presidential address, advised the students about the importance of dignity in the nursing profession and the qualities of a nurse so she gets excellence in her career and also highlighted the involvement of faculty in research activity. She congratulated all the students for choosing nursing as a profession.

Mrs. Shanthi Pinto, Assistant Lecturer and Convener of the program, welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. Dr Leena Sequira, Principal, MSON, Manipal presented the Annual report of the School for the year 2024. Meritorious students of various batches were awarded. Mrs. Sylvin Mendonca, Assistant Lecturer, proposed the vote of thanks. The whole program was compered by Mrs. Pavitra Nayak, Assistant Lecturer, MSON, Manipal.

The formal function was followed by the cultural program from the students and faculty. The program ended with the National Anthem. The event contributed to Sustainable Development Goal 3-“Good health and wellbeing”.
