OVERSEAS IMMERSION PROGRAMME

NGEE ANN POLYTECHNIC SINGAPORE & MANIPAL COLLEGE OF NURSING MANIPAL Overseas Immersion Programme of Ngee Ann Polytechnic Singapore was held at Manipal College of Nursing from 27th February 2015 to 19th March 2015. Thirty nine students and three faculty from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore attended the program along with 15 IV year BSc Nursing Students of Manipal College of Nursing Manipal. Sessions were provided as per CIM (20 hours). The students and their faculty were given an opportunity to interact with Manipal Academy of Higher Education officials.

Various visits including Virtual tour center, Manipal Academy of Higher Education campus, Anatomy museum, Pathology museum, Skill lab, Simulation center, Smrithi Bhavan and Marena were arranged as per the schedule. Visit to Srikrishna Balanikethan, Kukkikatte, Udupi and SDM Ayurveda hospital Udyavar were also arranged.
Sessions on History of Nursing by Dr. Kasturi R. Adiga, Principal, MSON, Manipal, Religion, caste and communities of India by Mr. Asim, PhD scholar, MCPH were arranged. Mr. Keshav and Mr. Tharun, PhD scholars, Dept of MCPH have taken session on Indian democracy and politics. A session on Cultural diversity of India /Folk and classical tradition was taken by Mr. Abhay Shetty, Dept of Humanities and management. Dr .Aravind Kumar, Professor, Dept of Geopolitics and International relations conducted an interactive session on Grass root development. A session on History of India was taken by Dr. Meera Baindoor, Dept of MCPH. Dr. Elsa Sanatombi Devi, Professor & HoD Medical Surgical Nursing, MCON Manipal has demonstrated Best from the waste. Mehandi application, garland making, rangoli were demonstrated by faculty, staff and students of MCON and MSON Manipal. Cultural exchange programme was also included in the schedule.
The programme was coordinated by Mrs Asha K. Nayak and Mr Renjulal, faculty, Dept of Psychiatric Nursing, MCON Manipal.
