An awareness session on ‘Organ donation’ was organized for the 2nd semester BSc Nursing students of MCON on 14th February 2023 between 4.00 pm & 5.00 pm at the 3rd Floor, Lecture Hall - II, Basic Science Building, KMC, Manipal. This was organized by the Health and Social Welfare Committee activity of the Student Nurses’ Association of Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal on the occasion of National Donor Day.

Mrs.Preethi Shetty, Nurse Practitioner and Transplant Coordinator at Kasturba Hospital, MAHE, Manipal was the Resource Person for the same. Mrs.Savitha Prabhu, Co-Advisor, Health and Social Welfare Committee of MCON welcomed and introduced the speaker to the participants.

Mrs.Preethi, in her talk, sensitized the students on the noble act of organ donation and also highlighted the process of organ donation in India. Overall it was a lively session with success stories of organ transplantation being shared. The students clarified their doubts and it was indeed very heart-touching to see the videos of people being benefited by organ transplantation. Around 140 students attended the session and it was concluded with words of gratitude expressed by Mrs.Savitha.
